内容简介:

Internet-mediated communication is pervasive nowadays, in an age in which many people shy away from physical settings and often rely, instead, on social media and messaging apps for their everyday communicative needs. Since pragmatics deals with communication in context and how more gets communicated than is said (or typed), applications of this linguistic perspective to internet communication, under the umbrella label of internet pragmatics, are not only welcome, but necessary.

The volume covers straightforward applications of pragmatic phenomena to internet interactions, as happens with speech acts and contextualization, and internet-specific kinds of communication such as the one taking place on WhatsApp, WeChat and Twitter. This collection also addresses the role of emoticons and emoji in typed-text dialogues and the importance of “physical place” in internet interactions (exhibiting an interplay of online-offline environments), as is the case in the role of place in locative media and in broader place-related communication, as in migration.

谢朝群

毕业于福建师范大学外国语学院,获文学学士学位,1998年毕业于福建师范大学外国语学院,获文学硕士学位,2004年毕业于福建师范大学文学院,获文学博士学位。现为浙江外国语学院教授。研究方向包括语用学、语言社会学、语言哲学、文化交际等。

 

Francisco Yus

Francisco Yus is full professor at the university of Alicante, Spain. He teaches pragmatics and has specialised in the application of pragmatics (especially relevance theory) to media discourses and conversational issues. Latest research has to do with the analysis of misunderstandings and irony in conversation, as well as to the production and interpretation of humorous discourses. Francisco Yus is currently Head of the Institute of Applied Modern Languages (IULMA) at the University of Alicante.

 

Hartmut Haberland

He was a professor at Roskilde University in Denmark.In 1977, he founded the Journal of Pragmatics together with Jacob Mey. Currently, he is an editor of Pragmatics and Society together with Mey (Chief editor), Hermine Penz and Hans Jørgen Ladegaard, and an editor of Acta Linguistica Hafniensia, the journal of the Linguistic Circle of Copenhagen together with Lars Heltoft, Janus Mortensen, Sune Sønderberg Mortensen und Peter Juul Nielsen.
