通知 | 莎士比亚、弥尔顿与欧洲文学传统国际云研讨会即将召开

小编说经教育部批准,中世纪与文艺复兴研究中心(CMRS)与国家社科基金重大项目“弥尔顿作品集整理、翻译与研究”(19ZDA298)相结合,浙江大学中世纪与文艺复兴研究中心将于2020年10月3011月1日线上举办莎士比亚、弥尔顿与欧洲文学传统国际研讨会”。来自中国大陆、中国台湾、英国、美国、加拿大和日本等国家和地区的60余名正式代表参加本次云研讨会。中外大咖学者线上齐聚,一场文学盛宴即将拉开序幕。大会的诸多亮点,请随小编一起先睹为快吧!

导语

在全球化时代,中国和世界的联系日益紧密,从中世纪到文艺复兴时期的早期欧洲文学研究受到更多的关注,呈现出新的面貌,表现出转型时期的特殊性。在文学研究领域,“理论之后”的文本世界更加异彩纷呈。从研究内容上说,传统的文学史和经典作家作品研究不乏重视,现代性问题受到特别关注;从研究方法上说,版本目录学、手稿研究、书籍史、数字人文等方法纷纷登场,标示着方法论的变革;同时,学者越发关注主体性问题,在形象学和中欧文学交流研究中凸显出自身的中国(文化)身份。转折中的早期欧洲文学研究与21世纪的中国和世界息息相关,不可分割。浙江大学外国语言文学学科始建于1928年,目前已逾九十周年。外国语言文化与国际交流学院从戚叔含、方重、佘坤珊、陈嘉、田德望、张君川、索天章、鲍屡平、郑儒鍼等先生开始,即有从事早期欧洲文学研究的优良传统。著名莎剧翻译家朱生豪1933年毕业于浙江大学前身之一之江大学中国文学系。2016年12月,中世纪与文艺复兴研究中心成立,为早期欧洲文学研究的开展提供了机构保证。继2017年10月成功举办“转折中的早期英国文学研究:青年学者论坛”、2018年10月成功举办“中世纪与文艺复兴欧洲文学研究青年学者国际研讨会”和2019年10月成功举办“欧洲中世纪与早期现代文学研究国际研讨会”之后,经教育部批准,中世纪与文艺复兴研究中心(CMRS)与国家社科基金重大项目“弥尔顿作品集整理、翻译与研究”(19ZDA298)相结合,将于2020年10月3011月1日线上举办“莎士比亚、弥尔顿与欧洲文学传统国际研讨会”。

Lorna Hutson

Lorna Hutson (MA Hons, DPhil Oxon, FBA) is Merton Professor of English Literature at the University of Oxford. She has taught at the University of California at Berkeley and the University of St Andrews. Her publications include a foundational study of Thomas Nashe (1989), The Usurers Daughter (1994), The Invention of Suspicion (2007), Circumstantial Shakespeare (2015) and the Oxford Handbook of English Law and Literature 1500-1700 (2017). She has won the Roland Bainton Prize twice (2008, 2018) and is currently at work on the book project Englands Insular Imagining.

William Baker

William Baker is Distinguished Chair Qiantang River Professor, Hangzhou Normal University, and Distinguished Professor Emeritus, Northern Illinois University, visiting Professor at Zhejiang University, Ningbo University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and International Consultant for the Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies (CMRS), Zhejiang University. The author or co-author of over 150 refereed articles and 32 books, his fifth book on Harold Pinter, Pinter’s World: Relationships, Obsessions, and Artistic Endeavours was published by Fairleigh University Press and Rowman & Littlefield in 2018. His co-authored with Jeanette Roberts Shumaker, Jewish Writing: A Reference and Critical Guide to Jewish Writing in the UK, 2 vols., was published in 2019 by Edward Everett Root. His works on Shakespeare include The Facts on File Companion to Shakespeare, 5 vols., ed. with Kenneth Womack, 2012; William Shakespeare [Writers’ Lives], London and New York: Continuum, 2009; and Shakespeare: The Critical Tradition: The Merchant of Venice, ed. with Brian Vickers, London and New York: Thoemmes Continuum, 2005.

Lauren Shohet

Lauren Shohet is Professor of English at Villanova University (Pennsylvania, USA), where she teaches courses in Shakespeare, Milton, and media theory. She is Subject Editor for English Literature and Drama of the forthcoming on-line Routledge Encyclopedia of the Renaissance World (slated for first release in 2021). The author of Reading Masques: The Court Masque and Public Culture in the Seventeenth Century (Oxford University Press, 2010), she edited Temporality, Genre, and Experience in the Age of Shakespeare: Forms of Time (Bloomsbury-Arden, 2018) and co-edited Early Modern British Literature in Transition 1557-1623 (Cambridge University Press, 2019). Her essays have appeared in Milton StudiesShakespeare SurveyPoetics Today, and many other venues. She has received fellowships and awards from the U.S. National Endowment for the Humanities, the Folger Shakespeare Library, the Mellon Foundation, the Fulbright Foundation, the Huntington Library, and the Shakespeare Association of America. She serves on the editorial board of Milton Studies. Her current book project is provisionally entitled Mediation, Remedy, and Milton’s “Paradise Lost.”

Prof. Dr.Liu Jianjun刘建军,现任上海交通大学外国语学院特聘教授,曾任东北师范大学文学院资深教授、博士生导师,享受国务院特殊津贴,同时也担任中国高等教育学会外国文学专业委员会会长,吉林省文学学会会长,国家社会科学基金评审委员,全国高校外国文学教学研究会会长等。出版专著与译著10部,主编国家教材等15部,主持国家社科基金重大项目2项,国家社科基金项目2项,在《外国文学评论》《外国文学研究》等核心期刊发表论文百余篇。Liu Jianjun, distinguished professor of School of Foreign Languages of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Former senior professor of College of Arts of Northeast Normal University. Doctoral supervisor. Recipient of State Council Special Allowance. President of Foreign Literature Committee of Chinese Higher Education Association. President of Jilin Provincial Literature Society. The National Social Science Foundation Committee member. He has published 10 monographs and translated works, edited 15 national textbooks, presided over two National Social Science Foundation major projects and two National Social Science Foundation annual projects, and published more than 100 papers in core journals such as Foreign Literature Review and Foreign Literature Studies.

Prof. Dr.Chen Ming陈明,北京大学外国语学院南亚学系教授、教育部人文社会科学重点研究基地北京大学东方文学研究中心主任。主要研究兴趣为印度古代语言文学、佛教语言与文献、古代丝绸之路医学文化史、东方文学图像学等。近年出版语言文学类著作《文本与语言:出土文献与早期佛经比较研究》、《印度佛教神话:书写与流传》、《梵汉本根本说一切有部律典词语研究》等。目前主持国家社科基金重大课题“古代东方文学插图本史料集成及其研究”。Chen Ming, Professor of South Asian Studies, School of Foreign Languages, Peking University, and Director of the Oriental Literature Research Center (key research base of humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education), Peking University. His research areas are ancient Indian language and literature, Buddhist language and literature, medical culture history of the ancient Silk Road, and Oriental literary iconography. His recent books include Text and Language: A Comparative Study of Unearthed Documents and Early Buddhist Scriptures and Indian Buddhist Mythology: Writing and Circulation. He is the leader of the National Humanities and Social Sciences Foundation Grand Project “The Collection and Study of Historical Materials of Illustrations in Ancient Oriental Literature.”

Thomas N. Corns

Thomas N. Corns is Emeritus Professor of English Literature at Bangor University, Wales, UK. He is a Fellow of the British Academy, the Royal Historical Society, and the English Association, and an Honored Scholar of the Milton Society of America. His more recent publications include John Milton: Life, Work, and Thought (co-authored with Gordon Campbell) (2008) and The Complete Works of Gerrard Winstanley (with Ann Hughes and David Loewenstein) (2009), and he edited A New Companion to Milton (2016) and Milton and Catholicism (with Ronald Corthell) (2017). He is currently editing Paradise Lost (with David Loewenstein). With Gordon Campbell, he is the General Editor of The Complete Works of John Milton (2008-).

Nicholas Koss

Nicholas Koss did his undergraduate studies in philosophy at St. Vincent College and studied Chinese at Chabanel Language Institute in Taiwan. He holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Indiana University and is retired Distinguished Professor of Comparative Literature at Peking University and Fu Jen Catholic University. He was one of the founding members of the Taiwan Association for Classical, Medieval and Renaissance Studies, and served as its first President (2006-2010). He is also an international consultant for the Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies, Zhejiang University. Among his research interests are the image of China in the West, Chinese-Western literary relations, comparative fiction, and literature and religion. He is now doing research on the image of China in 16th- and 17th-century England, about which he has published a number of articles, including “Matteo Ricci on China via Samuel Purchas: Faithful Re-Presentation,” which is in Western Visions of the Far East in a Transpacific Age1522-1657, edited by Christina Lee. His other publications include many journal articles and The Best and Fairest Land: Images of China in Medieval Europe (极乐净土:中古世纪的中国形象), Taipei: Bookman (书林), 1999.

Sandro Jung

Sandro Jung is Distinguished Professor of English and Comparative Literature at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. The Editor-in-Chief of the A&HCI-listed journal, ANQ (Routledge), since 2013, he has produced more than 200 publications, including Kleine artige Kupfer: Buchillustration im 18. Jahrhundert (2018), James Thomson’s ‘The Seasons’, Print Culture, and Visual Interpretation, 17301842 (2015), and The Publishing and Marketing of Illustrated Literature in Scotland, 17651825 (2017).

Prof. Dr. Yu Shiyi余石屹,清华大学外文系长聘教授,博士生导师,研究范围包括英美文学、翻译学与跨文化研究、比较文学与西方汉学等。最近出版物为中华学术外译项目A Concise Reader of Chinese Culture(中国社会科学出版社/Springer, 2019)。Yu Shiyi, Professor of English and Comparative Literature in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, Tsinghua University, whose research areas include English and American literature, translation studies, cross-cultural studies, comparative literature, sinology, etc. His recent publication is a Chinese Fund for the Humanities and Social Sciences project A Concise Reader of Chinese Culture (China Social Sciences Press/Springer, Oct. 2019).

Shen Hong

沈弘,男,浙江大学英语系荣休教授,博士生导师,兼任浙江省翻译协会副会长、浙江省哲学社会科学规划学科组外国语言和文学组成员。研究兴趣:1)英国文学(尤其是中世纪和文艺复兴时期英语诗歌);2)中外文化交流(尤其是外国人拍摄中国的老照片);3)非物质文化遗产。出版过45本书和100多篇论文,代表作有《弥尔顿的撒旦与英国文学传统》(2010、2019),《英国中世纪诗歌选集》(2019)、《遗失在西方的中国史》系列丛书(2014-2018)等。Professor Emeritus at Zhejiang University, China, Mr. Shen’s research interests are in English literature, Sino-Western cultural relations and exchanges, and missionary studies. He earned his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. from Peking University, and he has been a visiting scholar at University of Oxford, Harvard University, University of Toronto, and University of Bristol. He has published altogether 45 books and more than 100 articles.

Prof. Dr.Denise Ming-yueh Wang王明月,密歇根州立大学博士,台湾中正大学外文系教授,主要从事中世纪英国文学研究。现任台湾西洋古典、中世纪暨文艺复兴学会主席。

Wang Ming-yueh (Ph.D., Michigan State University) is professor of English at the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature, Chung Cheng University (Taiwan). Her research field is medieval English literature. She is currently the president of Taiwan Association of Classical, Medieval, and Renaissance Studies (TACMRS).

He mainly focuses on comparative literature and English literature. He has done a comparative study on English Gothic novels and the Chinese supernatural tales in the Six Dynasties.

Prof. Dr.Wang Lixin

王立新博士,南开大学文学院比较文学与世界文学专业教授、博士生导师,中国高等教育学会外国文学专业委员会副会长,天津市外国文学学会会长,南开大学国际教育学院、汉语言文化学院院长。主要研究领域为希伯来文学与文化、古代以色列民族史。曾先后在以色列耶路撒冷希伯来大学、美国明尼苏达大学古典与近东学系学习古希伯来语,著有《古犹太历史文化语境下的希伯来圣经文学研究》、《古代以色列历史文献、历史框架、历史观念研究》、《王立新教授讲希伯来文学与西方文学》、《欧洲近现代文学艺术史论》、《潘神之舞——劳伦斯和他的<查泰莱夫人的情人>》等。

Dr. Wang Lixin, is professor of Comparative Literature and World Literature at the School of Literature, Nankai University, PhD advisor, Vice Chairman of the Specialized Committee for Foreign Literature of China Association of Higher Education, Chairman of Tianjin Academy of Foreign Literature, Dean of the School of International Education and the College of Chinese Language and Culture, Nankai University. His research covers Hebrew literature and culture and the history of ancient Israel. He studied ancient Hebrew at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Department of Classical and Near Eastern Studies at University of Minnesota. Prof. Dr.Hao Tianhu郝田虎,北京大学英语系学士、硕士,哥伦比亚大学英文系博士,现任浙江大学外语学院教授、博导、中世纪与文艺复兴研究中心主任等。国家社科基金重大项目“弥尔顿作品集整理、翻译与研究”首席专家,《中世纪与文艺复兴研究》主编,研究领域包括早期现代英国文学、比较文学、英文手稿研究等。
Hao Tianhu (PhD, Columbia University) is professor of English and comparative literature, and director of the Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies (CMRS) in the School of International Studies, Zhejiang University. Editor of Medieval and Renaissance Studies, he specializes in early modern English  literature, comparative literature, and English manuscript study.

中心简介浙江大学外语学院中世纪与文艺复兴研究中心(Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies,简称CMRS)于2016年12月30日在杭州成立。作为国内第一家中世纪与文艺复兴研究中心,CMRS的使命是整合研究力量,推进浙江大学的中世纪与文艺复兴研究,搭建中国大陆、海峡两岸和国际学术交流平台,服务中世纪与文艺复兴研究学术共同体。著名学者沈弘教授担任中心名誉主任。CMRS目前出版三套丛书:中世纪与文艺复兴译丛、《中世纪与文艺复兴研究》丛刊和文艺复兴论丛,均由中心主任郝田虎教授主编,浙江大学出版社出版。
