引航•外国语学院新生桥梁讲座 第4期| Business, Culture and Communication

As China’s next generation of business leaders, you need to be excellent communicators. Being able to use English proficiently is key, as English is currently the most important language in global business, but linguistic skills are not enough on their own. At SUFE, we recognize that in order to communicate effectively and persuasively, you also need to understand the people with whom you are communicating. This lecture will introduce you to the place of learning about foreign cultures in order to improve your communication skills, before highlighting the point through examples of non-verbal communication.

主讲人简介

Dr. Russell Palmer teaches courses on Western culture and cross-cultural business combination in the School of Foreign Studies, and holds a PhD from Ghent University, Belgium. His research and publications focus on material, textual, and commodity cultures of the Western world in early and late modernity. Before embarking on an academic career, he worked for a decade in an international business environment.
