An informal discussion between Anaheim University Graduate School of Education Dean Dr. David Nunan, Anaheim University TESOL Chair and Professor Rod Ellis and Anaheim TESOL Professor Kathleen Bailey as they discuss the Anaheim University online MA TESOL program and their future development plans for an online Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.).  This discussion was held during the Anaheim University MA TESOL residential session  on the campus of Sookmyung Women's University in Seoul, South Korea.   

David Nunan

Anaheim University Dean of the Graduate School of Education Dr. David Nunan is the world's leading textbook author with worldwide sales exceeding 2,500,000,000. He is the former President of TESOL, the world's largest language teaching organization, and has written approximately 100 major publications for such publishing companies as Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, Thomson Learning, Heinle & Heinle, etc.

Rod Ellis

Dr. Rod Ellis is Chair of the Anaheim University Graduate School of Education. A renowned linguist, Dr. Ellis received his Doctorate from the University of London and his Master of Education from the University of Bristol. A former professor at Temple University both in Japan and the US, Prof. Ellis has taught in numerous positions in England, Japan, the US, Zambia and New Zealand. Dr. Ellis, who is known as an expert in Second Language Acquisition, has served as the Director of the Institute of Language Teaching and Learning at the University of Auckland. Author of numerous student and teacher-training textbooks for Prentice Hall and Oxford University Press, Prof. Ellis's textbooks on Second Language Acquisition and Grammar are core textbooks in TESOL and Linguistics programs around the world.

Kathleen Bailey

Kathleen M. Bailey, a Past President of TESOL (1998-1999), received her M.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language (1976) and her Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics (1982) from the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Bailey is Professor of TESOL in Anaheim University's Graduate School of Education. She also works full-time as a professor of Applied Linguistics at the Monterey Institute of International Studies in Monterey, California. She was the Director of the TESOL M.A. Program there for six years and the Director of the Intensive English as a Second Language Program for three years. In addition, she was instrumental in developing the Monterey Institute's Certificate in Language Program Administration. She is a recipient of the Allen Griffin Award for Excellence in Post-secondary Teaching on the Monterey Peninsula, the Monterey Institute's Teaching Excellence Award 2006 and the James E. Alatis Award for service to TESOL 2007.
