报告摘要

Transition paths are the stochastic paths that take a system from one state to another. In this talk, we show how they can be generated by a modified Langevin equation to save the simulation time for rare events in the presence of high barriers. Some applications include knotting-unknotting of circular DNA (in presence of topoisomerase), and to some allosteric transitions in proteins.

Henri Orland,French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission. From 2004 to 2011: Head of the Institut de Physique. since 2005: Member of the C3 Commission of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP, Statistical Physics). since 2008: Vice-President of the IUPAP, Chairman of the C3 Commission of the IUPAP (Statistical Physics).

Out of equilibrium soft matter is a rapidly growing field of multidisciplinary research with problems ranging from active matter, growth processes in biology, self assembly under imposed constraints to fluctuating hydrodynamics, and nonequilibrium effects on Casimir physics. This workshop intends to develop a synergistic approach to tie together various contemporary problems studied at the crossroads of soft matter and statistical physics connected by the fundamental role of fluctuations.
