The following article is from CHINADAILY Author
The Stanford Internet Observatory claims on its webpage:"We believe this activity represents the most extensive case of covert pro-Western influence operations on social media to be reviewed and analyzed by open-source researchers to date."
So the publish report first. And then after the report was out, some consulting companies would follow. They would try to spread the message of this report and also other think tanks would follow. So there are lots of kinds of discussions suddenly about this topic, about this report, and then they would spread it to the social websites. And they would spread it to the mainstream Western media. They use this to drown or to overwhelm the truth or fact about this.So this is actually a kind of more typical way of doing disinformation activity in the United States.
For me, it's not a big deal. As a journalist, I have a big heart. I don't really care about trolls and I won't give up speaking out the truth while facing life threat.
I feel so angry like many of you who are watching this video when I see these police officers who've committed their lives to fighting terrorism and safeguarding peace in Xinjiang, having their personal information leaked online.
The wolves behind the database is just a small fraction of the massive propaganda network the West has built.
The huge sums the US has spent on the network, including the covert influence campaigns and overt trolling and harassing of critics are misshaping the global narrative on Xinjiang and beyond.
