报告人介绍


Prof. Masaaki Kimura (木村 真明)

(RIKEN & Hokkaido University, Japan)


Professor Masaaki Kimura received his Ph.D in 2002 at Kyoto University, Japan. He started his postdoc career at RIKEN followed by those at Kyoto University and Tsukuba University. In 2008 he Joined Hokkaido University as a faculty member and directed theoretical nuclear physics laboratory since 2012. His research focus is on nuclear clustering and nuclear structure problems. In particular, he is interested in the cluster resonances related to stellar reactions. He has been the chair of the Nuclear Reaction Data Centre at Hokkaido University since 2017. From 2021, he is appointed a Principal Researcher at RIKEN and has launched a new Laboratory for Theoretical Nuclear Physics of nuclear many-body theory. His new laboratory will be a theoretical research platform and promotes physics of unstable nuclei, nuclear clustering, and nuclear astrophysics.


报告简介


The ¹²C+¹²C fusion reaction plays a vital role in the explosive phenomena of the universe. The resonances in the Gamow window rule the reaction rate and products. Hence, determining the resonance parameters by nuclear models is indispensable because direct measurement is not feasible. In this talk, I report the resonances in the ¹²C+¹²C fusion reaction described by a full-microscopic nuclear model. The model plausibly reproduces the measured low-energy astrophysical S-factors and predicts the resonances in the Gamow window. Contradictory to the hindrance model, we conclude that there is no low-energy suppression of the S-factor.
