报告简介
The origin of the information paradox dates back to decades ago. In 1975, Hawking proposed that the information falling into the black hole would disappear after the evaporation of the black hole. This has caused a crisis in the fundamental framework of physics. The issue brings together the most important fields of physics–quantum mechanics, thermodynamics and the theory of general relativity, and is essential for our understanding of quantum mechanics and gravity. Recently, tremendous progress has been made to provide a quantum description of the information conservation in the process of black hole evaporation. This was done without the recourse to a complete understanding of the quantum dynamics of black holes. In this salon, I will introduce this problem and the current understanding of it and also some stories behind this problem. Minimal background knowledge on quantum or gravity is required.
