讲座提要

This event will focus on the Ancient World Mapping Center (AWMC: https://awmc.unc.edu/) and its activities.

Dr. Richard Talbert will explain the establishment of the Center and illustrate the wide range of initiatives over the past two decades. Dr. Gabriel Moss will elaborate on three projects, including the new "AWMC Interactive" maps that allow users to create their own maps, the invaluable Pleiades project, and the interactive map developed for use with the English translation of the geographical books of Pliny the Elder’s Natural History (Brian Turner and Richard Talbert, Pliny the Elder's World: Natural History, Books 2-6. Cambridge University Press, 2022).
