『洞见』 Insights 展览: A Color Explosion

第四届影像上海艺术博览会的『洞见』展览A Color Explosion 由艺术总监Alexander Montague-Sparey策划监制，该展览探讨了在一个更偏爱使用银盐明胶印刷的时代，绚烂颜色的出现是如何永远改变了我们看待影像的方式。

A Color Explosion 重点展示了20世纪70年代，彩色摄影如何被接纳为真正的艺术媒介。展览将从William Eggleston (CAMERA WORK, 柏林), Harry Callahan (Robert Mann Gallery, 纽约)，森山大道 (三影堂+3画廊，北京) 与 Richard Misrach (Robert Mann Gallery, 纽约)等前辈艺术家的影响，追踪至蒋鹏奕 (Blindspot Gallery, 香港), Andrea Good (Galerie StephanWitschi, 苏黎世), 沈玮 (Flowers Gallery, 伦敦 & 纽约) 以及赵仁辉 (香格纳画廊, 上海, 北京 & 新加坡) 等新生代当代艺术家的作品。

从技术的角度来上，本次展览将进一步探索染料转印，染色冲印以及色素印刷和显色印刷等不同相纸类型，以及效果和使用方面的比较与对比。
展览的策展人将与纽约画廊主Robert Mann对谈。他们将一起回顾美国的彩色摄影发展史，以及其对欧洲和亚洲的相关实践的影响。对话的第二部分将聚焦艺术家沈玮 (Flowers Gallery, 伦敦 & 纽约) 和封岩 (三影堂+3画廊，北京)，以及艺术家在他们代表作中对于色彩的表现手法。

At the fourth edition of PHOTOFAIRS | Shanghai, curator of Insights | A Color Explosion, Alexander Montague-Sparey will examine how the resplendent colors achieved would change the way we saw color photography forever more, in a domain that had, until then, favoured the black and white gelatin silver print.
A Color Explosion underlines the extent to which the profile of color photography became accepted as alegitimate artistic medium in the art world in the 1970s. The exhibitions places the work of international stars William Eggleston (CAMERAWORK, Berlin), as well as Harry Callahan (Robert Mann Gallery, New York), Daido Moriyama (Three Shadows + 3 Gallery,Beijing), and Richard Misrach (Robert Mann Gallery, NewYork), next to a generation of younger contemporary European, Asian and American artists. These 14 artists include Jiang Pengyi (BlindspotGallery, Hong Kong), Andrea Good (Galerie Stephan Witschi, Zurich), Shen Wei (Flowers Gallery, London & New York)and Robert Zhao (ShanghART Gallery, Shanghai, Beijing & Singapore).

From a technical standpoint, the exhibition will further aim to explore different paper types such as dye-transfer prints, dye-destruction prints as well as pigment prints and chromogenic prints, and how these compare and contrast in terms of results and uses.
The shows’ curator will be in conversation with New York dealer Robert Mann. Together they will look at the history of color photography in America and its evolution into European and Asian practices. The second part of the talk will focus on the work of artists Shen Wei (Flowers Gallery, London & New York) and Feng Yan (Three Shadows + 3 Gallery, Beijing), and their respective approaches to color in their work.
