The First International Symposium on the Translation and Cultural Communication of Chinese Wushu (Martial Arts)

——文明因交流而多彩,文化因互鉴而丰富——

      “文明因交流而多彩，文化因互鉴而丰富”。武术是中华传统文化的杰出代表，实施中华优秀传统文化传承发展工程的重要组成部分，中国武术以其显著的健身性、大众性和娱乐性为国内外人士所青睐，武术文化交流与国际传播对于推进世界文明和中国优秀传统文化的发展具有重要意义。

      为丰富武术的文化内涵，提升武术文化的国际传播与外译能力、国别与区域等相关跨领域研究以及外语学科与文化传承的融合，推动中国武术文化的传承与发展，中共河南省委外事工作委员会办公室与河南工业大学共建的“河南省少林功夫外译研究中心”（2019年11月29日成立）将于2020年11月28日在河南郑州举办首届中国武术文化传播国际研讨会。

      Civilization is constructed and enriched from cross-cultural communication, and culture is nourished by nutrients of various cultures materials. Wushu (Kungfu,/Martial arts), a sport embodies rich history and heritage of China, plays a pivotal role in sustaining and spreading the grandiose Chinese culture. Extending beyond just a martial art, Wushu also blends fitness, dedication and skills into fun and rewarding experience, and hence it is accepted by people from various cultural background. Spreading the practice of Kungfu, therefore, functions constructively in enhancing the world civilization diversity and promoting traditional Chinese culture.  

     To urge the development and endorsement of Wushu in China, and to enrich the essence and promote the spread of Wushu across the world, the Shaoling Kungfu Translation and Research Center, established jointly by Henan Foreign Affair Committee and Henan Technology University on November 29, 2019, will host the first international symposium on the cultural communication of Chinese Wushu on November 28, 2020.

The symposium is supported by the editorials board of Translation Teaching and Research and Translation Quarterly.

    You are welcome to attend and submit your articles to the symposium. The articles accepted will be published in the Conference Proceedings with an ISBN or be recommended to publish in the two journals.
