Two Southern California Shooting Suspects Identified: Local Police

From CRIENGLISH.com

San Bernardino[圣博娜迪诺(美国加州一城市名,位于洛杉矶的东面)]Police Chief[警察局长;警长] Jarrod Burguan said at a news briefing[新闻发布会] that the 2 dead suspects were identified as a man and a woman who were both in their late twenties[二十几岁;接近三十岁].

"The first man has been identified as Syed Rizwan Farook. He is 28 years old. I am told that he is US-born. The person that was with him is a female, she is deceased[已故的,已死的] as well. Her name is Tashfeen Malik. She is 27 years old. "

He added that both of the two were heavily armed[全副武装的] with fire weapons, and that a suspected explosive device[疑似爆炸装置] was also found in the Inland Regional Center.

A detail has also been revealed[一个细节被披露] that Farook left the holiday party early under circumstances that[在…情况下] were described as angry, which might have been a key factor[主要因素] leading to the mass shooting.

The tragedy[悲剧,惨剧] has sparked[爆发;引发] wide condolences[同情,吊唁] and condemnation[谴责; 定罪].
Farook's brother-in-law[姐夫,妹夫] Farhan Khan expressed his grief at the incident.

"I just cannot express how sad I am for what happened today. I am.., condolences to the people who lost their life, I am very sad that people lost their life, that there are victims out there I wish speed recovery to them, again I am in shock that something like this could happen. "

He added that he was still in shock[震惊] and had no idea why Farook would do such a thing.

For his part, U.S. President Barack Obama called on lawmakers[立法者] to take steps[采取措施] to stop such tragedies from happening again[阻止悲剧再次发生].

"My hope is that we're able to contain[包含,容纳; 克制,遏制; 牵制] this particular shooting and, and we don't yet know what the motives[动机] of the shooters are, but what we do know is, is that there are steps we can take to make Americans safer and that we should come together in a bipartisan basis[在两党的基础上] at every level of government[各级政府/部门] to make these rare as opposed to normal. We should never think that this is something that just happens in the ordinary course of events[在一般情况下,通常; 按理; 按说], because it doesn't happen with the same frequency[频率] in other countries."

The state's Muslim[穆斯林] community has also condemned the incident.
