XIII. Upholding and Improving the Policy of One Country, Two Systems and Promoting National Reunification
reunification
reunification /ˌriː.juː.nɪ.fɪˈkeɪ.ʃən/ 表示“重新统一”，英文解释为“an occasion when a country that was temporarily divided into smaller countries is joined together again as one country”如：the reunification of Germany 德国的重新统一。
“一国两制”是中国特色社会主义的伟大创举，是香港、澳门回归后保持长期繁荣稳定的最佳制度安排，必须长期坚持。
The policy of One Country, Two Systems is a great innovation of socialism with Chinese characteristics. It has proven to be the best institutional arrangement for ensuring sustained prosperity and stability in Hong Kong and Macao after their return to the motherland. This policy must be adhered to over the long term.
sustained
1）表示“持续的，持久的”，英文解释为“continuing for a long time”举个🌰：
His speech was greeted by sustained applause.
他的演讲博得了经久不息的掌声。
2）表示“坚定的，坚持不懈的”（determined），2020年政府工作报告中的例句：持续打造市场化、法治化、国际化营商环境 make sustained efforts to create a market-oriented, law-based, and internationalized business environment.

表示“成功；（尤指经济上的）繁荣，昌盛”，英文解释为“the state of being successful and having a lot of money”举个🌰：

administer
administration应该都不陌生，administer作动词，用来表示“管理，治理”（to manage the work or money of a company or organization），或者是表示“执行，实施；给予”，英文解释为“to provide or organize something officially as part of your job”举个🌰：
It is not the job of the police to administer justice; that falls to the courts. 司法不是警方的职责，而是法院的职责。
此外，还有熟词僻义，指的是“施用（药物），给予（治疗），派发（药物）”，英文解释为“to give someone a medicine or medical treatment”举个🌰：
Painkillers were administered to the boy. 已给那个男孩服了止痛药。

We will remain committed to law-based governance in Hong Kong and Macao and maintain constitutional order in these two special administrative regions as stipulated in China’s Constitution and their basic laws.
stipulate
stipulate /ˈstɪpjʊˌleɪt/ 表示“规定；明确要求”，英文解释为“If you stipulate a condition or stipulate that something must be done, you say clearly that it must be done.”举个🌰：
She could have stipulated that she would pay when she collected the computer. 她本可以明确要求取电脑时付款的。

The British police have no jurisdiction over foreign bank accounts. 英国警方对外国银行的账户没有司法管辖权。
落实“爱国者治港”、“爱国者治澳”原则，落实特别行政区维护国家安全的法律制度和执行机制。
We will see that Hong Kong and Macao are administered by patriots and that the laws and enforcement mechanisms for safeguarding national security are implemented there.

judicial /dʒuːˈdɪʃ.əl/ 表示“司法的；审判的”，英文解释为“Judicial means relating to the legal system and to judgments made in a court of law.”如：an independent judicial system 一个独立的司法体系。
保持香港、澳门资本主义制度和生活方式长期不变，促进香港、澳门长期繁荣稳定。
We will ensure that the capitalist system and way of life remain unchanged in Hong Kong and Macao in the long run and work to promote long-term prosperity and stability in the two regions.
支持香港、澳门发展经济、改善民生、破解经济社会发展中的深层次矛盾和问题。
We will support Hong Kong and Macao in growing their economies, improving their people’s lives, and resolving deep-seated issues and problems in economic and social development.

表示“根深蒂固的；笃信的”，英文解释为“strongly felt or believed and very difficult to change or get rid of”如：a deep-rooted desire 强烈的愿望。
发挥香港、澳门优势和特点，巩固提升香港、澳门在国际金融、贸易、航运航空、创新科技、文化旅游等领域的地位，
We will give full play to the strengths and distinctive features of the two regions to see them consolidate and elevate their international position in finance, trade, shipping, aviation, innovation and technology, culture and tourism, and other fields.

distinctive /dɪˈstɪŋk.tɪv/ 表示“与众不同的，独特的，特别的”，英文解释为“Something that is distinctive is easy to recognize because it is different from other things.”如：adistinctivesmell/taste特别的气味/味道。
aviation
表示“航空（学）；飞行（术）；航空工业”，英文解释为“the activity of flying aircraft, or of designing, producing, and keeping them in good condition”如：the British Civil Aviation Authority 英国民航局。

interference
表示“干涉，干预”，英文解释为“an occasion when someone tries to interfere in a situation”举个🌰：
She seems to regard any advice or help from me as interference. 她似乎把我的任何建议或帮助都看作是干涉。

2）表示“驾驶”，英文解释为“When you steer a car, boat, or plane, you control it so that it goes in the direction that you want.”举个🌰：

unswervingly 表示“坚定不移地”，英文解释为“without swerving or turning aside”
