Donald Trump sparred[1] with a CNN reporter at his press conference Wednesday, accusing the network of purveying[2] fake news after the cable channel published a report that the president-elect had been briefed by intelligence officials on the contents of an explosive dossier[档案,卷宗;汇编材料] claiming to contain compromising personal and financial information. CNN had reported that the information, which had been offered to other media organizations, was part of a briefing that intelligence officers gave to Trump.

CNN's Jim Acosta attempted to get Trump to take his question at Wednesday's event in New York, only to be repeatedly shut down.

"Not you, not you," Trump said. "Quiet."

"You're attacking us, can you give us a question?" Acosta pressed, as Trump spoke over him, trying to recognize another reporter.

"Don't be rude," the president-elect said. "You are fake news."

Acosta later said he was approached by Trump's spokesman, incoming White House press secretary Sean Spicer, who threatened to kick him out.

"Sean Spicer, the incoming press secretary did say to me that if I were to do that again, I was going to be thrown out of this press conference."Acosta said.

Following the conclusion of the conference, CNN issued a blistering[极愤怒的;猛烈的;极快的] statement, slamming Trump and his team for conflating CNN's reporting on the intelligence chiefs' briefing to Trump and President Barack Obama and the decision by Buzzfeed to publish the entire dossier Tuesday night.

"CNN's decision to publish carefully sourced reporting about the operations of our government is vastly different than Buzzfeed's decision to publish unsubstantiated[未经证实的;未被证明的] memos," the network said in a statement. "The Trump team knows this. They are using Buzzfeed's decision to deflect from CNN's reporting, which has been matched by the other major news organizations."

"We are fully confident in our reporting. It represents the core of what the First Amendment[美国宪法第一修正案(保护言论与信仰自由以及和平集会权)] protects, informing the people of the inner workings of their government; in this case, briefing materials prepared for President Obama and President-elect Trump last week," the statement continued. "Given that members of the Trump transition team have so vocally[喜欢畅所欲言的;直言不讳的] criticized our reporting, we encourage them to identify, specifically, what they believe to be inaccurate."
