理工生修炼手册 | 田路遥：做对选择就成功了一半

宁波诺丁汉大学土木工程系田路遥同学在毕业季同时收到了帝国理工学院、英国诺丁汉大学、墨尔本大学、多伦多大学和伦敦大学学院的录取通知书。

这位坐拥五大名校录取通知书的姑娘不但被评为2019年度最佳学生和2019年浙江省优秀毕业生，而且荣获2019年度校长奖学金和2017、2018年浙江省政府奖学金。田路遥惊艳的求学之路的背后，源于她当初的两个选择。

选择适合自己的学习环境

提前职业规划在田路遥看来是十分重要的，选择适合自己的道路才能够在未来学习中寻找真正的兴趣爱好。宁诺的纯英文教学环境、丰富的课外实践机会、可自由支配的假期时光为她提供了一个多元化的学习与兴趣爱好的探索平台。

首先，宁诺的纯英文教学可以使我提前适应英文学习环境并且有助于拓宽我的国际化视野。其次，宁诺有很多课外实践的机会，比如暑期志愿者项目和超过100多个不同类型的社团组织。最后一点，宁诺的暑假很长，可以让我更专注于自己感兴趣的事情，比如暑期科研和实习。

选择自己喜欢的学习专业

这个眉眼清秀，气质柔和的女生，很难土木工程师形象联和起来，田路遥说选择土木工程这个专业与她的经历有关：“我是四川人，在2008年的汶川地震之后，我对桥梁结构和建筑结构产生了浓厚的兴趣。之后，我计划在大学学习土木工程，尤其是结构工程。”

土木专业的课程改革也使田路遥可以个性化选择自己未来的学习科目，抓住未来学习方向。“在宁诺，我们可以选择更适合自己的课程。” 另外，土木工程专业不是呆板的读书，也充满了动手实践的机会。“很多小组设计项目都很有趣，我们可以自己设计，而不只是学习理论。”

在土木工程学习中，田路遥依靠过硬的专业知识也获得了不少奖项，桥梁设计比赛冠军和第四届普利凯创新奖。

这个比赛是基于装配式建筑的创新设计，其中参赛的很多都是设计院工作的人，还有研究生，只有我们学校是本科生。绿色环保地聚物一体化砂浆，这个是一个减少污染的制备方式，原材料也零污染，但同样能达到和水泥一样强度的产品。

校外实践

田路遥还参与到暑期的支教项目当中，自己申请了印度尼西亚龙目岛一个孤儿院的项目，教小朋友数学和中文，组织各式各样的活动，为孩子们带去了欢笑。田路遥感触颇多，和这些孩子比，我们生活真的要幸福太多，因此我们更要学会珍惜自己所拥有的，不要白白浪费，要尽自己最大的努力。”

校内实践

在宁诺大学四年中，田路遥不但凭借优异的成绩取得了为期一年英国诺丁汉交换的机会，而且多样的课外活动也锻炼了她实践能力。在课余时间，她选择加入理工学生联合会（SESA），组织了IChemeE第四届香皂设计大赛、IMechE英语演讲比赛、IoM3第二届净水器设计大赛等不同学部的活动。并且在模拟联合国社团中，她参与主持了多次模拟联合国并且撰写相关推文。

对土木的热爱，激发田路遥继续深造的道路。

最后，分享一段话送给学弟学妹们：提前规划职业道路，每学年设定一个小目标，毕业后做到青春无悔。

Luyao Tian, a girl from the Sichuan Province, is going to be graduated from the Civil Engineering programme in the following July. She receives offers from her dream school – Imperial College and is going to study Transport for the postgraduate studies. Back in 2008, after the Wenchuan Earthquake, she was committed herself to create stable structures for bridges and buildings which can resist the seismic loads. Therefore, Civil Engineering is always her first and only choice.

Luyao said that choosing Civil Engineering is the best decision I ever made. The programme has gone through a re-structure and there are more student projects integrated in the modules. It gives students opportunity to practice the theory and enhance the skills. Especially the transferable skills, like team working, independent problem solving skills and critical thinking. With the enthusiasm and great effort, Luyao perform great in the academic side. She received scholarships from both the university and the government, and is awarded the Best Student of the Year in 2019.

Luyao appreciate the platform that university offered to get more practice opportunity both in the academic level and in voluntary work. In the Precast concrete building innovation competition, Luyao and her team, as the only undergraduate student team in the contest, through using the one part-geopolymer mortar to reduce the pollution during the construction period, won the Preca Innovation prize at last. She also spent one summer to teach students mandarin and mathematics in the Lombok Island, Indonesia.

Luyao concluded that she benefit most from the authentic English learning environment, abundant practice opportunities and long vacation to explore her own interests.

 “Plan career path ahead of time, and have a small goal for every academic year.” This is the advice Luyao give to her fellow schoolmate. Indeed, step by step, little by little, it will happen at last.
